at the Wesleyan Church, Whitehaven, by the Rev B.C. BARKER, circuit minister.
Much interest was centred in the happy event, as both are natives of the
village and are held in high esteem by the residents. The bride wore a pale blue
voile dress, with a cream picture hat, trimmed with chiffon and orange
blossom, and carried a splendid bouquet of exotic flowers, the gift of the
bridegroom. Her bridesmaids were Miss BRAMWELL, sister of the bridegroom, Miss FISHER,
Harras Moor, cousin of the bride, Miss MOORE and Miss TODHUNTER, nieces of
the bride and bridegroom. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr D.
CATHEY, while Mr Wm. H. BRAMWELL acted as groomsman. The wedding breakfast was held
at the home of the bride's mother, and a large number of guests were present.
In the Sunday Schoolroom a social evening was spent in dancing, games, etc.,
which was kept up with much vigour until midnight. Mr Wm. LENNON,
Hensingham, supplied the music. The wedding presents were numerous and costly.
