Employers Liability Bill

The new Employers Liability Bill was introduced in the House of Commons on Monday. It is stated to leave the Act of 1880 untouched, and proceed upon the principle that where a person on his own responisibility and for his own profit set in motion agencies which created risk to others he ought to be responsible for the consequences of what he did. The Bill also provides that if injury was caused by the wilful and wrongful act of the employer or of some person for whom the employer was responsible he should be liable to be sued under the old Act.
