ST. ANDREW’S CHURCH, CONISTON. ____________ On Sunday last, after the evening service, Mr. T. Oswald CORRIN, A.R.C.O., the organist gave an enjoyable organ recital in the above church, a good congregation being present. The following were the items being rendered: - Prelude and Fugue (G minor) BACH Humoreske, Dvorah Pomp and Circumstance (No. 1 in D) ELGAR Indian Idyll and Firetale, MACDOWELL The recital brought to a close Mr. CORRIN’s twent month connection with this church., he having been appointed as organist and choirmaster at St. Mary’s Church, Windermere, where he commences duty on Monday next. The Rev. F. T. WILCOX, the vicar, at the close of the recital, paid a graceful tribute of appreciation to the value of Mr. CORRIN’s services during his stay in Coniston, in regard not merely to the ability with which he had discharged his duties, but also to the spirit in which they had always been performed, and was sure he would be expressing the feeling of the choir and the congregation generally in wishing him God Speed in his new sphere of duty. |
