HOLBORN HILL PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH. ______ The newly-appointed minister for Millom and Haverigg, the Rev. J. A. HETTIE preached two interesting sermons on Sunday last, to good congregations. The afternoon service was provided by the children, when the anniversary hymns were repeated. Miss. LAMB conducted and Mr. W.DOIDGE presided at the piano. The chair was occupied by Mr. F. MURRAY. After the service the prizes were distributed to the Sunday School Scholars for good attendance, over 30 good books being given out for regular attendance. A garden party was to be held on Monday afternoon, but this on account of the weather had to be abandoned. Tea was provided in the Schoolroom, which was well attended and afterwards Mr. J. W. ILLINGWORTH presided over a public meeting when addresses were given by the Rev. A. S. JOHNSON and the Rev. J. A. HETTIE. |
