The bridal party and guests were conveyed to and from the church in a motor car. The wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride, where the usual toasts were given and responded to. A reception was held in the evening, when about 40 couples were entertained, including many Cumbrians. Dancing, games &c., were indulged in until early hours on Thursday morning. All joined in the singing of Auld Lang Syne, which brought a very happy time to a close. The wedding presents, which were very numerous were of a handsome and costly character.
