WELL - KNOWN CUMBERLAND
CATTLE BREEDER DEAD.

 Death has removed another well - known Cumberland breeder of pedigree Shorthorn cattle in the person of Mr. John HOPE, of Ireby Hall.
 
 His herd was noted for it’s dairy qualities, and one of his greatest successes was the breeding of Good Friday, a bull which gained many championship prizes, and which was sold at Aikbank dispersal sale for 664 gns.
 
 Mr. HOPE who was 65, for many years represented Ireby Parish on the Wigton Board of Guardians and the Wigton Rural District Council.
