WORKINGTON RECHABITES. _____________ The annual excursion of the juvenile section of this order took place on Saturday to Allonby. One hundred and twenty members and friends were conveyed by brakes supplied by Mr. Tom IRVING, New Yard. The splendid weather made the journey very delightful, and the long drive by the Solway Firth was greatly enjoyed. On arriving at the destination refreshments were served on the green, after which a programme of sports was gone through with the following results: - Boy’s footrace, over ten years of age: 1. Alex FISHER 2. G. W. JOHNSTONE 3. Jas. A. HANNA Boy’s footrace under ten years of age: 1. Geo. TOWNSLEY 2. J. G. CADDY 3. Edward TOWNSLEY Girl’s footrace over ten years of age: 1. Jessie THORNTHWAITE 2. Mabel PARK 3. May POWERS Girl’s footrace under ten years of age: 1. Annie S. LONGSTAFF 2. G. RICHARDSON 3. M. B. RICHARDSON Egg and Spon race, Boys: 1. J. JEFFERY 2. H. H. HANNA 3. John LONGSTAFF Egg and Spoon race, Girls: 1. Clara WILSON 2. I.. LONGSTAFF 3. M. POWERS Wheelbarrow Race: 1. A. FISHER and G. W. JOHNSTONE 2. Jas. HANNA and E. SUMPTON Women’s Race: 1. Miss. M. HANNA 2. Mrs. TOWNSLEY 3. Mrs. A. MUSGRAVE Men’s Race: 1. Geo. TOWNSLEY 2. M. T. FLETCHER Consolation Race: Boys, J. POWERS Girls, Eva SUMPTON At the close of the sports the prizes were presented to the winners by Bro. E. DAWSON. The return journey was commenced at 7-30 and home was safely reached at 9-30. The outing was very greatly enjoyed, it being the best ever held in connection with the tent. The arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. T. CLARK, M. T. FLETCHER, with A. J. W. MUSGRAVE, secretary. |
