The anniversary services of this church were held on Sunday and Monday last, when appropriate sermons were preached by the Rev. E. CAMPBELL, the superintendent of the circuit, to good congregations.

Mr. CAMPBELL also addressed a meeting of the Men’s Bible Class in the afternoon - presided over by Mr. J. McGUFFIE, vice-president - this being his first appearance at the Bible Class, of which he is president, and he gave an address which was much appreciated by the large gathering of young men in attendance.

At this service Miss. HOGG, of Ashington, contributed a solo accompanied by Mr. C. G. McDONALD, the organist of the Bible Class. At the evening service Miss. KITCHIN also rendered a solo in a very pleasing manner. Mr. I. H. COLLINS presided at the organ.

After tea a public meeting was held in the Church, and was well attended. The chair was occupied by Mr. G. A. BELL, of the Hollins, who gave a pithy address, after which a fine speech was delivered by the Rev. J. H. CARTWRIGHT, Wesleyan minister, which was followed by a few fitting remarks by the Rev. E. CAMPBELL. Miss. HOGG again sang a solo which was most heartily applauded.

Mr. W. COOPER, secretary of the Trust, gave his annual report, which showed that the anniversary would prove a record. Mr. COOPER on behalf of the trustees, thanked the school children who had sold tickets for the tea; the ladies who had contributed and prepared the tea; those who presided at the tables; to the choir and accompanists as well as the soloists for their services; to the Chairman and to the speakers. This was heartily accorded and was followed by a supper and social. The anniversary was considered to be the most successful that has been held in many years past.
