WHAT AM I TO DO?
I AM STARVING.
____

Wm. COLVILLE, (44), no occupation and no fixed abode, was charged with having begged in Main-street, Egremont, ay 7-45 on the 9th August.

P.C. BYERS said the prisoner was stopping people, and when refused he swung his stick round his head and used filthy language. He went into the King’s Arms, and when the land lady refused him he swung his stick round and would have broken a glass window if witness had not caught the stick. When charged he replied, “What have I to do? I am starving.” He had six pair of braces in his possession.

Supt. HOGG said prisoner was up on the 3rd March this year and committed to gaol for three month.

The Chairman: Well, COLVILLE you are a public nuisance, and you will have to go to Carlisle for three months. We will have to deal differently with you if you come again.
