WESLEYAN EXCURSION TO SEASCALE. _____ The Frizington and Rowrah Wesleyan Sunday School had their annual Sunday School excursion to Seascale yesterday, Wednesday. The morning was wet, causing much disappointment. The weather, however, improved before the time of starting, and a good number assembled. The afternoon, though not ideal was much better than anticipated, and all enjoyed themselves. The scholars were regaled with tea, buns, and cake, attended by their teachers, and a public tea was held in the Public Hall. The ladies in attendance were: Mrs. SHAW Mrs. PARKER Miss. BLUNDEN Mrs. POLLEY Miss. PLOOEY Mrs. RILEY Miss. TODD Mrs. LAIDLOW Mrs. WILLIAMS, and others. Messrs. KNIGHT, secretary W. E. CHEGWIDDEN T. WATSON J. PLAICE, gave valuable assistance for Frizington while Mr. WIGHAM, secretary and others worked equally well for the Rowrah scholars and friends. |
