SEASCALE NEWS. ______ The fine weather we have recently had has induced many to visit Seascale. The lodging houses are, with odd exceptions, full of visitors. A few of the furnished houses have not secured tenants for this August. *** The golf links have not been so crowded as in other years. Probably there are not so many golfers among the visitors this year. *** There is an increased number of passengers taking advantage of the Wasdale Head circular tour, via Gosforth. The Eskdale circular tour, introduced since the Eskdale line ceased to carry passengers, has never been very popular. *** The vestry of St. Cuthbert’s Church has accepted the tender of Messrs. WHITTLE and Son, Ltd., for a new heating apparatus for the church, in place of the present hot-air system, which has been in use since the church was erected. |
