A CAT’S HOME. ____ Ald. MUSGRAVE complains that St. Nicholas’ Churchyard as it is now is not creditable looking, and that it is a happy hunting ground for cats, dogs and small children. We have heard of the cats before, and probably those who reside in the neighbourhood will have a very much more vivid impression of them than that of any outsiders. We also quite believe that some dogs would find a churchyard full of cats a not uninviting place to do some pleasurable nocturnal coursing. But the happiness of such a hunting ground for the cats we fail to appreciate. We had not heard of the dogs before; but Ald. MUSGRAVE incidentally throws light on the rather difficult problem how to rid the place of cats. A couple of municipal dogs of the right sort would do all that is required and be delighted. |
