MR. DUNCOMBE AT MILLOM ___________________________ A Conservative Meeting held at Millom on Tuesday evening was well attended. MR. W. LEWTHWAITE occupied the chair, and there were on the platform the HON. H. V. DUNCOMBE, M.P., for the division, MR. T. BARLOW-MASSICKS, MR. W. E. BROCKBANK, (Chappels), MRS. DIXON, MR. J. W. BROCKBANK, MR. H. RILEY, MR. W. POSTLETHWAITE, MR. WILSON BUTLER, and MR. G. HILL. ****************************************************************** MR. DUNCOMBE AT CLEATOR MOOR. __________________________________ The annual meeting of the Lindow Habitation of the Primrose League was held in the Market Hall, Cleator Moor, yesterday (Wednesday). A tea was held in the afternoon, the tables being provided by MRS. BURNS-LINDOW, MRS. SUMPTON, the MISSES GAYTHWAITE, MRS. COULTHARD, MRS. POTTS, MRS. HALL, MRS. SANDWITH, MRS. J. J. ROBINSON, and the MISSES DAWSON. The hall was tastefully decorated with plants, curtains, bannerettes, &c. MR. JONAS LINDOW presided, and was supported by the HON. H. V. DUNCOMBE, M.P., MR. HELDER, M.P., MISS BURNS-LINDOW (Ruling Councillor), MISS A. BURNS-LINDOW, MR. and MRS. DIXON (Rheda), MR. R. BAKER, MISS HELDER, REV. T. COLE, MR. W. GAYTHWAITE, MRS. COULTHARD, MRS. POTTS, MISS HALL, MRS. THORNTHWAITE, MR. W. E. WALKER, MRS. W. BOND, MRS. SANDWITH, MRS. LINDOW, MRS. CALDERWOOD, MR. J. J. ROBINSON (secretary), MR. T. BROWN (Whitehaven), MR. W. H. CHAPMAN, MR. S. L. BURNS-LINDOW, MR. H. M. J. BURNS-LINDOW, MR. J. H. BROWN, MRS. WATSON, and MRS. W. THOMPSON. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ at both of these meetings [which had very lengthy descriptions in the 'Gazette', MR. DUNCOMBE spoke on the political subjects of the Turkish/Greek war, the South African concerns; the Boers preparing for war; the Employers' Liability Bill making improvements to the case of the working class. These subjects were all covered in a previous article entitled "THURSDAY, APRIL 22nd, 1897. THE MILLOM MEETING", and so I have chosen not to repeat the same subject matter.
