A NEW WAY OF BOILING POTATOES

In a certain town, not 100 miles away, a lady
had occasion to change her servant, and as she
had not very well got used to her mistress's way.
The lady had to go out on business just before
dinner, and she told the sevant they would have
potatoes boiled with their jakets on.  So in due
time she came back and asked the maid if she had
done as she was told, whe, to her surprise, she
answered: "If you please mum I could not find
an old jacket, so I boilde them in an old pair of
britches."
