RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL. The fortnighly meeting was held on Thursday. Present: Mr. KENWORTHY, chairman Rev. S. G. CRAIG Rev. W. G. C. HODGSON J. S. AINSWORTH J. C. BROWN J. DICKINSON W. H. WATSON W. GRAHAM J. J. DIXON T. J. BLACK W. ATKINSON W. PETTIGREW J. BRAGG L. SALKELD J. BANKS Mr. ATKINSON, clerk Dr. FISHER, medical officer Mr. BOYD, surveyor Mr. SMITH, inspector. It was agreed that the Clerk write to the County Council and object to the way in which some telephone posts were being erected on the road between Workington and Whitehaven, and request that they should confer with the surveyor. It was agreed that the Council pay to Mr. SHEPHERD not exceeding £10 of the cost of carrying out road improvements in Kinniside, on its being done to the satisfaction of Mr. BOYD. It was also agreed that the chairman and vice chairman be authorised to fix their signatures on behalf of the Council to the county address, which is to be presented to Her Majesty at the instance of the County Council congratulating her upon the completion of the sixtieth year of her reign. Mr. BRAGG proposed that the clerk write to the landlords and tenants and ask them to repair the road between Winscales and Haile. - Agreed to. ******
