VICKERS, who recently returned from Canada, has been articled as a farm pupil to Mr. William WALKER, Abbey Farm, St. Bees. ****** Father BRUNO will give an organ recital at St. Begh's Catholic Church on Tuesday evening, in aid of the Infirmary. ****** A meeting of the creditors of Mr. Hy CROSS, of Lowther-street, is to be held at Mr. ATTER's office, tomorrow, (Friday) evening. ****** Thunder was heard for the first time in this district on Friday. The sound was plain enough, and it appeared to come from the Ennerdale locality. ****** Mr. and Mrs. Thomas TYSON, of Ghyll Bank, are at present at Southport, where Mr. TYSON is deriving much benefit from the change of air. ****** Ravenglass railway station contains the most and prettiest flowers of all the stations on the Furness line. Some of the wall flowers here are simply splendid. ****** A Liverpool publican has been fined 1s and 1s costs for being in possession of a policeman's baton. He had had it over two years, and kept it in case it would "come in useful." The article was confiscated. ****** Inspector BLANKINSOP, of Millom, who was retired from the police force, after 26 years service, has just been the recipient of a handsome umbrella, with inscription, and an illuminated address, in oak frame, subscribed for by the police under him in the Millom sub-division. ******
