WHICHAM AND SYLECROFT.
At the recent Parish Council MR. JAMES COWARD was re-appointed chairman and MR. A. JACKSON vice-chairman. The overseers are MESSRS. JAMES COWARD and S. BROWN.
It has been decided to gather the stones off the foreshore that had been washed there by the recent storms, and so enable the grass to grow on the pretty slopes at the beach.
Visitors are making inquiry about accommodation for the summer months.
Operations were commenced last week to drain the lane leading from the fell road to the Church and School, and which has always been in bad condition in wet weather.
The trade in our four public-houses is not very brisk. ============================================================ |
