RAVENGLASS AND MUNCASTER. A Parish Council meeting was held in the High School, Muncaster, on Friday evening, the Rev. Canon BELL (vice-chairman) presiding. Also present: A. WATT W. J. CADDY D. STOCKDALE J. SHAW A. SIM W. M. BIRKETT (secretary) Mr. A. SIM signed the declaration and took his seat on the council. Mr. FURNISS, one of the council having recently left the district, on the motion of Mr. D. STOCKDALE, seconded by Mr. CADDY, Mr. S. TURNER was elected to the vacancy. A Technical Committee meeting was also held, the same members being present, with D. STOCKDALE, hon. secretary. The secretary's correspondence with the Council was read, and it was decided that no lectures be applied for for the ensuing session. There being no further business, Mr. SHAW moved, and Mr. WATT seconded, a vote of thanks to the chairman, and the meeting closed. ** Rainfall at The Grove, Ravenglass, for August. Rain fell on 19 days - total 4.87 inches, being nearly 1.00 in. more than the average of the last six years. The greatest fall of rain in August during the past six years was in 1900 when 7.43 inches fell. ****** |
