WORKINGTON PETTY SESSIONS. (Before the Rev. H. CURWEN and I, SCOTT, Esq.) George BELL, smith, and Robert BURNS, carpenter, were both charged by the parochial authorities with leaving their wives and families destitute. The former was sent to gaol for a month, and the latter was ordered to pay the costs in a fortnight, or stand committed to gaol.

Robert ELLIOT, an apprentice at Messrs. FISHER and Sons’ ropery, was charged with absenting himself from his work. He was severely reprimanded, and committed to gaol for 14 days; after that to go to his work as usual, or be again apprehended.
