Serious disturbances have taken place at Belina, in Bosnia.  The Christians
there having built a church, the Turks pulled it down, and committed other
excesses.  They also attempted to murder the bishop.

The Austrian police, to clear Vienna of the crowd of vagabonds and thieves
which infested it, has just arrested 400 of them together, and has had them
taken off at once to the galleys at Venice and Trieste.

Louis Philippe has engaged M. Horace Vernet to paint three pictures
representing the bombardment of Tangiers, the taking the island of Mogadore,
and the battle of Isly.

A war steamer constructed of mahogany, and intended to be the largest in the

to be called the "Terrible".

A government agent has visited Sunderland, and surveyed and approved the
site selected by the Public Walks Committee as a recreation ground for the
