TO THE EDITOR OF THE GAZETTE. Post Office, Kendal, April 16th, 1829. Sir, - Having observed a letter in your last week's paper, signed "Amicus," complaining of some irregularity in a post office not 100 miles from Kendal, I should be obliged by your informing me who is the writer of the letter, as he must (if alluding to this office) be under a gross mistake, or has asserted a deliberate falsehood. No such event as the one described having occurred to the knowledge of any one in the post office, Kendal. I am, Sir, Your most obedient svt., M. FENTON. _________ |
