SALE OF STEAM ENGINES, COLLIERY MATERIALS &c.
 
R. MITCHELL has Instructions to SELL, by PUBLIC AUCTION, on TUESDAY, the 16th Day of OCTOBER, 1855, upon the Premises at Greysouthen Colliery, near Workington, -
 
The whole of the COLLIERY STOCK and PLANT (the Property of J. W. FLETCHER and CO., who are declining business), comprising
 
One High Pressure Steam Engine of Fourteen Horse Power, with Boiler 22 ft. 6 in. by 4 ft. 8 in., with Pumping and Winding Apparatus, complete;
 
One High Pressure Steam Engine of Twelve Horse Power, made by STEPHENSON, with Boiler, 14 ft. 8 in. by 4 ft. 8in., and Winding Gear;
 
Twelve Fathoms of Thirteen-inch Pumps, with Wind Bore and Valve Pieces;
 
One Nine-inch Brass-lined Working Barrel;
 
Two Three-ton Weighing Machines;
 
One Excellent Double-horse Gin, with Standards and Pullies;
 
One Jack Roll and One Crab Winch;
 
Two Sets of Pit Head Gear, with Pullies;
 
A large Quantity of Tram Plates and Sleepers;
 
Skreen Bars and Corves;
 
Flat and Round Ropes;
 
Stone and Coal Picks, Shovels, Hammers, and Wedges;
 
Bellows, Anvils, Vices, and a Variety of Smithy Tools;
 
Crow Bars, Jumpers, and other Sinking Gear;
 
Limestone Quarry Gear, &c.
 
Also a Quantity of Larch Poles and Pine Planking, forming the Pit Top Frames and Roofing, and Quantity of Building Materials.
 
The whole will be Sold without Reserve.
 
The above Materials will be arranged in Lots, and may be viewed during the Three Days prior to the Sale, and further Particulars may be known on Application to J. W. FLETCHER AND CO.
 
The Sale to commence at Ten o'Clock in the Forenoon precisely.
 
Trains from Whitehaven and Carlisle arrive at Broughton Cross Station, within One Mile of the Colliery, at Nine o'Clock a.m.
