This Day is Published, In Two Large Octavo Volumes, containing together 1,000 Pages of Letter Press A Description Of The Lakes and Mountains In Cumberland, Westmoreland, and Lancashire With some Account of their Bordering Towns and Villages; The Result of Observations made during a Residence of Upwards Of 18 years in Ambleside and Keswick _____ By William GREEN _____ Sixteen years of the above period were appropriated to the production of drawings and sketches, from the prominent to the most retired features of this interesting district; but the three last years have been principally devoted to numerous Excursions, made with the design of collecting materials to be exhibited in a series of directions for the use of tourists. The work will be interspersed with remarks on the present on the present appearance of the vallies, particularly as beautified or deformed by Wood, or as connected by neighbouring elevations with more removed objects. The price of the work with a map and twelve prints, One guineas. - On a superior paper, with a map and 24 prints, Two Guineas. _____ The author requests of those Ladies and Gentlemen who have already done him the favour of subscribing to the work that they will again signify their intentions, as it is feared that some of their names may be omitted in the Subscription o fthe book. **Please to address the Author, in Ambleside, or Mr. LOUGH, at the Printing Office, Kendal. _____ On the same day will be ready for delivery, a Box, containing ten large cups of Original Colour, and Four Compounds; prepared under the direction of William GREEN. An introduction to the study of Mountain Landscape, is written, and will be published with these colours. The Compounds are calculated to save much valuable time, for by their agency the eight preparatory tints my be produced with greater certainty in five minutes, than can be done with the original colours in an hour. The explanation of the colours and the compounds is illustrated in the body of the letter press by a numerous arrangement of tints, with their application to the Publishers Mode of proceeding through all various stages of a Drawing.
