On Wednesday evening the Committee of the above held a grand  concert of vocal and instrumental music in the Public Hall. Mr. David JACKSON  occupied the chair. There was not a large attendance, owing to the unsettled  state of the weather. The following was the programme: - “Pas ca!” (waltzes) band and piano Song, Mr. C. WHITELOCK Selection, Hand bell ringers Song, “Let me dream again” Miss. ELSBY Reading, “Joe and the geologist” Mr. T. W. JOHNSTON Part song, The Belfry Tower Song, “The laird o’ Cockpen” Mr. W. M’KIE Song, Mr. J. C. NICHOLSON Pino Duet, “Jubilee overture” Mr. W. J. SMITH and Miss. SMITH Song, “Two merry hearts are we,”  Miss. MILLER and Miss. ELSBY Ready, “Soup for a sick man,” Mr. T. W. JOHNSTON Song, “Milly’s faith,” Miss. ELSBY Song, Mr. J. C. NICHOLSON Humorous sketch, “The Talkophone,” Mr. W. M’KIE Song, Mr. C. WHITELOCK Finale, “God Save the Queen.” _____________________
