THE SCARE ESTATE IN THE PARISH OF IRTHINGTON, FOR SALE.
TO be SOLD, by AUCTION, on WEDNESDAY the 2nd January, 1856, at Six o'Clock in the Evening, at the "George Inn", BRAMPTON, in the County of Cumberland, all that compact and desirable ESTATE, called THE SCARE, situate in the Parish of Irthington, in the said County, consisting of a convenient Dwelling House and Farm Buildings, and 80 Acres or thereabouts, of excellent Land, the property of MR. THOMAS HOPE, and now in the occupation of MESSRS. THOMAS and JOHN BARNFATHER, as tenants thereof.
With the exception of about 16 Acres Freehold, the Estate is of Customary Tenure, held of the EARL OF CARLISLE, as parcel of his Manor of Irthington, by payment of the Yearly Customary Rent of 11d.
The Land is in a capital state of cultivation, well watered and fenced, and every field opens upon a good Road intersecting the Estate, and leading to the Market Town of Brampton, about four miles distant.

TO be SOLD, by AUCTION, by WM. HENDERSON, on WEDNESDAY, the 19th day of DECEMBER, 1855, at the House of MR. PAWSON, Innkeeper, SEBERGHAM BROW TOP, at Three o'Clock in the Afternoon, all that Valuable ESTATE, called BULMAN HILL, in the Parish of Sebergham, in the County of Cumberland, consisting of a good Dwelling House and suitable Farm Buildings, Gardens, Orchards; also Two Cottages, and about 66 Acres of good Ground, viz., about 34 Acres of Freehold Ground, and 32 Acres of Copyhold, held under his GRACE THE DUKE OF DEVONSHIRE, as Parcel of the Manor of Sebergham, by payment of Annual Rents amounting together to 10s 1-1/2d.
The Estate is also subject to a small Rent Charge in lieu of Tithes. The site of the Dwelling House stands upon an eminence, semicircularly surrounded by the River Caldew, commanding a rich view of the woody and romantic vale of Sebergham, and is a desirable Residence for a Gentleman fond of rural pursuits, and is distant 9 miles from Carlisle, 13 miles from Penrith, and 8 miles from Wigton.
