The Vicar; Showman and Salesman Print E-mail
Business men in Workington may, however, point out that St. John’s is fortunate in having  in the Vicar, the Rev. J. R. CROFT, a showman and a salesman whom Selfridge’s or any other great London store would be happy to pay an ambassador’s salary. Certainly after reading the handbook we feel that beguiled by Mr. CROFT to the Mystic East in the Misty West, we shall not leave without “new riches for old, happy satisfaction in helping a good cause,” and a “memory of pleasant times and places.”

The handbook, which is, by the way, attractively illustrated with pen and ink sketches by Miss. THOMPSON, of Park End, will be treasured even as are the things we shall buy for delight.
