The Francis Ann's Catch

Mr. William BAXTER, the fisherman owner of the Francis Ann, and a member of a well known fishing family, sailed into Maryport Harbour on Monday with a cod fish weighing 21 pounds.   By comparison with the occasional monster cod caught in the deeper sea fisheries in the Northern circle, or on that favourite feeding ground, the Dogger Bank, the fish might be  regarded as nothing out of the ordinary, but it is nevertheless a heavy poundage for the shallow and uncertain Solway.
