RIFLE SHOOTING IN CUMBERLAND. _________ Rifle shooting is to be developed in Cumberland, with a view to the establishment of a County Association, from which expert marksmen can be sent to the shooting meets in other parts of the country as representatives of Cumberland. Miniature rifle practice is taking place in the Infantry Drill Hall, at Carlisle. From miniature rifle shooting, the Carlisle Club hopes to develop into open range shooting. Colonel T. S. IRWIN, secretary of the Cumberland and Westmorland Territorial Association, has promised support to the club, of which the secretary is Lieutenant S. H. MATHEWS. |
