![]() Mrs. BAKER, Whitehaven, Who has drawn Pard ![]() Mr. FRAZER, Netherton, who has drawn Gallic As reported on Page 3 four West Cumbrians have drawn horses in the Irish Sweepstake, and on Thursday and yesterday nine West Cumbrians received consolation prizes of £100 each. OFFERS FOR MARYPORT TICKET Mr. Harry FRAZER, 7, Ashby Street, Netherton, Maryport, who drew “Gallic” in the Irish Sweepstake, and shares the ticket with three other miners, Mr. Daniel MIREHOUSE of Flimby, near Maryport, Mr. George COURTY of Flimby, and Mr. John James HOGARTH of Maryport, has received a number of offers to purchase a part share in the ticket. Two are from prominent London firms of bookmakers. On Friday, Mr. FRAZER said they had considered the offers but had not decided to do anything over the week-end. S ome of the offers were on the basis that a purchase would be made if a mutually reasonable price could be fixed. Gallic has been announced as the selected horse of the three entries of trainer Frank BUTTERS, and the only one which will run. It is also announced as probable that A. BURNS will be its jockey. |
