Cleator Moor Man who
Collected £10,000.
 

A well -known Cleator Moor man, Mr. Samuel TEMBEY of Montreal Street, had a seizure in the street near his home yesterday morning and died shortly afterwards.
 
Mr. TEMBEY was for over 50 years master at Montreal Schools, Cleator Moor. Retiring several years ago.
 
During that time as secretary of the Cleator Moor War Savings Association, he raised over £10,000 and for his efforts in this direction he was awarded the King’s Medallion.
 
For half a century he was secretary of the Hematite Lodge of Oddfellows and was also an ardent worker on behalf of St. John’s Church and the Local Board of Hope.
 
He is survived by his widow, four sons and four daughters.
