Monday, Nov. 15. - The arrivals last week from Ireland were 5,562 firkins butter and 2210 bales bacon; and from foreign ports 7690 casks butter and 125 bales bacon. In the Irish butter market the business transacted last week was chiefly confined to the finest sorts at little ** no change in prices. Middling descriptions still meet a very slow sale. Best Dutch sold well. The bacon market ruled very flat; and the supply being more than ***** ***** , prices declined 2s to 3s per cwt without causing improved demand, and the market closed quiet at 48s to 53s landed, according to quality. _______________________________________ LONDON WOOL MARKET, Monday, Nov. 15 - Owing to the great firmness in the transactions at the colonial wool sales now in progress, there are no sellers of English wool, except at an advance in the quotations of 1d to 2d per lb. at present, however, this improvement has not been realised, but there is every prospect of an upward movement in value. The supply of wool here is very moderate. _______________________________________ GLASGOW PIG IRON MARKET, Nov. 17 - No. 1, 52s to 52s 6d; mixed numbers, warrant 53s to 53s 3d; ditto, maker's iron 51s 9d to 52s 3d; No. 3, 51s 9d to 52s 3d.
