Sold by all Chandlers, Grocers, &c. ================================ DENTAL SURGERY Established in the North of England for Upwards of Twenty Years. MESSRS. MOSELY, SURGEON DENTISTS of 30, Berner's Street, Oxford Street; and 42, New Bond Street, London; 15, Chapel Street, Preston; and 92, Bold Street, Liverpool, have arranged for the future to attend CARLISLE every Monday, at Mr. Hardy's, 21, Lowther Street PENRITH every Tuesday, at Miss Wilson's Milliner, Town End. Attendance from Ten ** Four. The Messrs. M. are now enabled to offer to their Patients and those who may wish to consult them, their newly invented method of supplying ARTIFICIAL TEETH, for which a "Royal Patent Has Been Taken Out". This invention consists of the use of an entirely new material, superseding the use of the Chemically prepared India Rubber and Gutta Percha. The novelty and superiority of this invention consist of the material being quite soft, and the same colour as the natural gum, whereby all rough and cutting edges are avoided, and a sure fit guaranteed. The material used is entirely without smell and of great durability; it possesses great advantages over any material ever used, and is altogether adapted to supply the deficiencies of the mouth, whether occasioned by ill health or neglect, and restores the countenance to that youthful appearance so long desired but never yet attained. These Teeth are fitted from one to a complete set, without wires or ligatures, and answer all purposes of mastication and articulation, and are supplied at prices lower than are usually charged for Common Teeth. They can only be had at the Messrs. M.'s residences, as above, where all operations in Dental Surgery are attended to with skill and ability. ____________________________________ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT METALLIC PEN MAKER TO THE QUEEN by Royal Command JOSEPH GILLOTT begs most respecctfully to inform the Commercial World, Scholastic Institutions and the public generally that, by a novel application of his unrivalled Machinery for making Steel Pens, and, in accordance with the scientific spirit of the times, he has introduced a NEW SERIES of his useful productions, which for EXCELLENCE OF TEMPER, QUALITY OF MATERIAL, and above all, CHEAPNESS IN PRICE, he believes will ensure universal approbation, and defy competition. Its large INVESTED FUND or CAPITAL, amounting to Upwards of THREE MILLIONS TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS. - the whole of which has been realised from the accumulation of the Premiums, and belongs exclusively to the Assured or Members. 2. The favourable results of previous Investigations into the affairs, and the large Additions which have from time to time been made to the Sums originally Assured, - the amount which has been paid in the case of many of the older Policies that have emerged by death being (with the Bonus) considerably more than double the Sum originally Assured. 3. The evidence thereby afforded of the anxious care with which the Lives have been selected and the Funds invested, and also of the regard to economy with which the management has been conducted. 4. The equity of the principles which guide the Society in allocating the Surplus Profits among the various Policy-holders. 5. The terms upon which the declared and vested Bonus may, in the opinion of the Policy-holder, be converted into a Cash Payment or into an Equivalent reduction of Premium, in every case where no obstacle is presented by circumstances beyond the control of the Society. The Directors would only add that full detailed information regarding the Society, and its principles and practice, is contained in the printed Reports &c., which may be had on application; and they beg to explain to intending Assurers that all Participating Policies effected before the close of the present year will rank for Bonus additions at the next investigation, on 31st December, 1859, as POLICIES OF TWO FULL YEARS' STANDING.
