PART THE FOURTH is devoted to the consideration of marriage, and its duties. The reason of physical disqualification, and the cause of unproductive unions, are also considered, and the whole subject critically and philosophically inquired into. THE CORDIAL BALM OF SYRIACUM is expressly employed to renovate the impaired powers of life, life, when exhausted by the influence exerted by solitary indulgence on the system. Its action is purely balsamic; its powers in reinvigorating the frame in all cases of nervous and sexual debility, obstinate gleets, impotency, barrenness, and debilities arising from venereal excesses, has been demonstrated by its unvarying success in thousands of cases. SCOTT'S BILIOUS AND LIVER PILLS prepared without any mercurial ingredient, from the Recipe of Dr. SCOTT, of Bromley, Kent. The astonishing efficacy of Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills in affections of the Liver, Stomach, and Bowels, has gained them the highest recommendation of Mr. HOLLAND, Mr. DAVIS, Dr. CLARK, and many other eminent physicians and surgeons. One or two pills, a short time after taking them, will remove any uneasiness in the Stomach, Head, or Bowels. Indigestion producing a torpid state of the Liver, and inactivity of the Bowels, causing a disorganization of the whole frame, will, by a little perseverance, with this excellent medicine, be effectutally removed. For habitual costiveness they are most excellent - not, like most aperient medicines, leaving the bowels confined, nor stimulating so as to aggravate the Pile. The evil effects arising from the excess of the table will be prevented if recourse be had to them: they quickly restore the system to its natural state of repose; they are particularly efficacious for Coughs, Colds, Auges, Shortness of Breath, and all obstructions of the Urinary Passages, strengthen the Stomach, re-invigorate the Nerves, create Appetite, promote Digestion, and a healthy action of the Liver Lower Moss-lane, Chester-road, Manchester. Dear Sir, - It affords me great satisfaction in being enabled to state that Dr. Scott's Bilious amd Liver Pills are effecting many cures, and obtaining an extensive and gratifying notoriety in and around this neighbourhood. Cases have come under my notice wherein the most obstinate form of a disordered Liver has been effectually cured, solely by the use of a small box of these invaluable Pills. No one ought, therefore, to despair of being cured of any complaint of the Stomach or Liver, so long as the patient has not tried them. The Pills are evidently emphatically what they are represented to be, viz., an excellent remedy for any derangement of the digestive organs, Nausea-liver Complaints, &c. - I am, very faithfully yours, October 12, 1854. T. FORSTER KER. An extraordinary CURE of INDIGESTION by taking Dr. SCOTT'S Bilious and Liver Pills. To Mr. W. LAMBERT, Chemist, 10, Jermyn-street, Haymarket, London. Shaftesbury, March 10th, 1858. Sir, - We have been requested by a gentleman of this town to inform you of an astonishing cure affected on him by taking only a single box of Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills. He had suffered greatly for a long time from indigestion in its worst form, accompanied by great oppression on the chest after eating, and general debility. He tried various advertised remedies without any avail, and was under the treatment of several medical gentlemen, but with little or no benefit. He was then advised to make a trial of Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills, and after taking only a single box, he is now happy to state he is perfectly cured. We are further desired to state that on application being made to us, he is quite willing at any time to satisfy any inquirer of the great efficacy of your invaluable Pills. We remain, Sir, Yours respectfully, D. ROBERTS & SON, Chemists, Druggists. Prepared only by W. LAMBERT, Chemist, 20, Jermyn-street, Haymarket, London, in boxes 1s 1-1/2d.; or three boxes in one, 2s 9d., and sold by all the Vendors of Medicine generally throughout the country. IMPORTANT CAUTION. - Be sure to ask for "Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills." If you ask for "Scott's Pills," you will get quite a different medicine; if you ask for "Bilious and Liver Pills," you will get a spurious compound, which, if taken, will not have the beneficial effects. Take down the particulars. - "Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills." Be sure they are a square green package, with the name of "W. Lambert, 20, Jermyn Street, engraved on the red ground of the Government Stamp." It frequently occurs that Druggists impose on their customers a "Scott's Pill," in an oval box, which is quite a different medicine, and causes much disappointment, as their medicinal effects are so opposite. Should any difficulty occur in obtaining the Pills, send 16 or 37 Postage Stamps to the Establishment, and they will be forwarded free. =================================== |
