Workington

The trustees of the town of Workington held a public meeting at the Green Dragon Inn, in that town, on Thursday week, at which they passed their annual accounts. The attendance of both trustees and rate-payers at this meeting was unusually thin, there being only five of the former and four of the latter present. A new election of the trustees for the town of Workington, for the ensuing three years, takes place, we understand, on the 23rd instant. We are glad to learn that the gentlemen belonging to the Workington Cricket Club are at present getting up a subscription for the purpose of presenting WILLIAM BLAMIRE CURWEN, Esq. with some special mark of their regard. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
