THE WHITEHAVEN CRICKET CLUB ARRANGEMENTS. _______ The following matches have been arranged between the Whitehaven Club and those mentioned for the season: - May 29th with Carlisle at Whitehaven June 3rd with Dovenby, at Dovenby June 10th with Barrow at Whitehaven June 17th with Ulverston at Ulverston June 23rd and 24thg and Eleven of Cumberland Gentlemen v. Gentlemen of Furness, will be played at Whitehaven June 1st Whitehaven plays Workington July 8th with Cockermouth at Whitehaven July 15th with Barrow at Barrow July 22nd with Dovenby at Whitehaven The Committee had engaged LAMBERT as professional, but he was taken ill, and it was then found necessary to engage Joseph SAULT, of Wakefield, as professional, and he has arrived. Major SPENCER is president of the club; Messrs. W. H. ATKINSON, Joseph BRAITHWAITE, jun., J. G. DEES, J. J. HANNAH and W. H. JACKSON are the committee, and Mr. J. W. MONTGOMERY is the hon. Sec. And treasurer. |
