SPORTING INTELLIGENCE. _____ MARYPORT CRICKET CLUB. _____ The members of the Maryport Cricket Club opened the season on Saturday last by a scratch match between eleven chosen by the vice-captain, Mr. MULCASTER, and eleven by the secretary, Mr. HINE. Mr. MULCASTER’s team scored 27 in the first innings against 20 by the opposing team. In the second innings Mr. HINE’s team was more successful, having scored 40; but as the second innings of both sides could not be played out, the game was decided on the first innings in favour of Mr. MULCASTER’s team. |
