PROMOTION OF A RAILWAY CLERK. We are pleased to note that MR. WILLIAM STOPARD, son of MR. J. STOPARD, Moor Row, has been transferred from the Goods Station at Cleator Moor to the London and North-Western Company's Goods Department at Sheffield, which is a much improved promotion. MR. STOPARD has been clerk on the joint line for about eleven years, and during the last four years he has also held the office of secretary for the Railway Medical Aid Society. He will be missed very much in the Moor Row Wesleyan Church, where he was a useful worker, being a teacher in the Sunday School, librarian, and a member of the choir. He was also a member of the Working Men's Institute. MR. STOPARD left the village with the good wishes of a large number of friends, and entered upon his new duties on Monday last. MR. A. ROSE has succeeded MR. STOPARD at Cleator Moor, and MR. H. HADWIN has taken MR. ROSE's place at Egremont. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
