EGREMONT DISTRICT COUNCIL CHAIRMANSHIP
(To the Editor of THE WHITEHAVEN NEWS)
 
SIR, - I wish to protest against the statement made in this week's "News" that
"The Egremont Council unanimously elected MR. M'DOWALL as their chairman for the year", 
the fact being that there were four in his favour and four against him, if there had been a contest. - Yours, &c.
