On Tuesday morning a shocking occurrence was brought to light at Arrad Foot, about a mile from Greenodd.  JAMES RAWLINSON, an unmarried man, 76 years, resided alone in a cottage.  Just before nine o'clock a neighbour (MR. T. COWAN) went in as usual, and found the old man partly kneeling in the fender in front of the kitchen fireplace, burned to death.  His head and left arm were very badly burned, and his clothes were in flames.  He is supposed to have had a fit and fallen into the fire.
