ELECTION ADDRESSES. HALTWHISTLE PARISH COUNCIL, ELECTION, 1898 LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, - Having been elected at our Parish meeting, and a poll having been demanded, I again offer myself as a candidate for our Parish Council, and if you should honour me with a place on the Council, I shall endeavour independently and without fear or favour to do my best for the general benefit of the Town and Parish. I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Yours sincerely, J. LEAKE. _______________________ TO THE ELECTORS OF THE PARISH OF HALTWHISTLE. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, - Having been nominated for the Parish and District Councils, I shall, if elected, endeavour to give satisfaction for either or both. I have always desired to get every benefit out of every Act for the welfare of the public health, and for the general wellbeing of the community. I am, your obedient servant, JOHN JACKSON. _______________________ HALTWHISTLE PARISH COUNCIL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS. FELLOW PARISHIONERS. - Having been elected at the Parish Meeting, I beg to offer myself as a Candidate at the election of Parish Councillors, to take place on the 4th April proximo. During the last three years, I have endeavoured to do my best, for the good of the Parish, and if re-elected shall give my support to any schemes which seem to me calculated to benefit the town. Whatever can be done for the benefit of the people, which the limited power of the council will allow, shall have my ungrudging assistance, irrespective of either creed or party.
