BLENKINSOPP PARISH COUNCIL. A meeting of this Council was held on Saturday, the members present being Messrs. HENDERSON (chairman), MARSHALL, TEASDALE, E. BATEY and KENNEDY with the Clerk (MR. WILKINSON). Several accounts were ordered to be paid. It was decided that the footpath from the bridge to the Station be repaired, and the Chairman, MR. MARSHALL, and MR. KENNEDY be a committee to carry out the work. The Clerk was instructed to inform MR. KYNNERSLEY, County Surveyor, that a complaint had been made of an over flow of water down the bank near the Hotel, and that it had run down against the new Reading Room. He was also instructed to call the attention of the North Eastern Railway Company's engineer to the dirty state of the approach to the station during the past winter, and to request that the officials be asked to pay more attention to it. It was also resolved to recommend the Railway Company to devise some better means for foot passengers to cross the line at Blenkinsopp Junction, the present mode being considered unsatisfactory. The Clerk was instructed to call the attention of MR. CROUDACE, manager at the Byron Colliery, to the state of a culvert at Bankfoot, which requires repair. |
