Lord LYNEDOCH Print E-mail

THE LATE LORD LYNEDOCH. -- We understand that an intimation was sent to the relatives of the late lord, that, if it would meet their wishes, or not be inconsistent with the intentions of the deceased, his remains would be deposited in Westminster Abbey.  However deserving of this honour, and however gratifying such request was to his surviving relatives, it could not be taken advantage of, as, we understand, his lordship had expressed on his death-bed a decided wish to be buried beside the ashes of his long-lamented wife, which lie in Methven churchyard.  With a view to this, his lordship, some years ago, caused a piece of ground within that place to be enclosed for a family burying-ground. -- Perth Courier.
