WYNDHAM-ROW WESLEYAN BAND OF HOPE EXCURSION.
_______________________________________________________

The first annual excursion in connection with this Band of Hope to Keswick took place on Tuesday, and many of the parents, teachers, and friends of the children availed themselves of the opportunity of visiting the captial of the lake district, the total number being 133, consisting of 63 adults and 70 children, who after singing a hymn, left Wyndham-row for Keswick at 9.45.a.m., via Great Broughton (where another hymn was sung), and thence to Brigham station.  A hymn being again sung, they left Brigham Station with the 11.17 a.m. train for Keswick.

On arriving at Keswick, the children, conducted by the teachers, marched in processional order to the market-square, where after singing a hymn they repaired to the Wesleyan School-room where they were entertained with tea and cakes, after which a public tea was held, the tables being served by the following ladies:

MRS. M. STOBART ; MRS. M. BELL ; MISS E. RICHMOND ; MRS. A. BIRKETT ; MISS H. ROBINSON ; MRS. J. E. CARLTON ;  MRS. S. STOBART ;  MRS. A. REAY ; and MISS M. A. BURNS.

Tea being over, several places of interest were visited.  The excursionists returned from Keswick by the 6.20 p.m. train, having spent a most enjoyable day.  Hymns were also sung on the return journey, at Keswick Wesleyan School-room; Keswick Station; passing through Broughton; and at Wyndham-row; after which the people reparied to their homes.
