Trade in West Cumberland

The Whitehaven Hematite Iron Company have commenced the work of building three additional furnaces at their works at Cleator Moor, in Cumberland. Several new furnaces are being built in various parts of the Furness and Cumberland districts.   We understand that the Carlisle Farmer’s Mutual Manure and Trading Company, Limited, have leased the works at Drumburgh, lately occupied by the Cumbrian Manure Works Company. Operations begin immediately.
