The Art Journal Print E-mail

The Art Journal for February is again a very handsome and attractive number. It contains a masterly etching by FORTUNY of “A Gentleman of Gouda,” and two line engravings, one of “The Confessional,” after KAULBACH, the other, “The Harvest of the Sea,” after G. CLAUSEN.

Mr. JEWITT continues his interesting papers on Corporation plate and insignia, finely illustrated, as are the articles on “American Homes,” “Original Designs for Art Manufacture,” and “Domestic Architecture in Syria and Palestine.”

The papers on River Scenery, by Professor ANSTED, on picture framing, and on Improvements in Artistic Colours, have each a special importance.
