A meeting of the Liberal Committee was held on Monday with the purpose of choosing a candidate in succession to Mr. FLETCHER, M. P., who has definitively decided to retire. The strong feeling out of doors adverse to the Committee arrogating this function was so emphatically represented, that it was decided to call a meeting of the whole Party on the 18th, to elect a Committee who shall choose the candidate.
The names most generally mentioned are those of Mr. WAUGH, Mr. ALLISON of Scaleby Hall, and Mr. Theodore HARRIS.
