Two men, named George EDGAR and Andrew RIDLEY, ironworkers at the West Cumberland Iron and Steel Works, were admitted to Carlisle Infirmary last week. They were about to slide some rails off a truck, when the sliding blocks were caught by an engine coming up, and pulled down on the men. RIDLEY’s right leg was broken and his left leg injured; EDGAR had one of his legs broken below the knee. They are doing well. |
