The Hull Packet has published a second edition, announcing that the great league meeting, appointed to be held in that town on Friday last, proved a complete failure. The working classes interfered, and questioned Cobden very closely as to how it came to pass that while there was seven times more work done in the cotton trade than formerly, the working classes were so much worse off. At the close a small subscription, not exceeding £200, was made although the League had declared that Hull was more interested in Free trade than any other town in England.
