Importation of 'Shoddy and Devil's Dust' Print E-mail
There are at the present time discharging in Hull docks on or two vessels loaded with "shoddy and devil's dust," or, in other words, ground rags, in intended for the West Riding manufacturers, the great supporters of the League, who will use it up in their manufactures, in the place of new wool, to enable them to keep of their tune of "cheap! cheap! cheap!" whilst the public, the suffers from this imposition, respond, "rotten! rotten! rotten!"   These arrivals are becoming quite common in Hull.—Hull Paper.
