    SUNDAY HIRING AT MILNTHORPE. -- The practice which so long prevailed at this place of hiring reapers on Sundays is now entirely discontinued.  The merit of abolishing this disgraceful and most unnecessary desecration of the Sabbath is almost exclusively due to the Rev. NICHOLAS PADWICK, the highly respected incumbent of Milnthorpe. -- Lancaster Guardian.
